Luxury 3D

Production notes

Luxury sells on materials.3D shows them up close.

A piece of jewelry, a watch or a bottle is judged on details a photo struggles to capture: the sparkle of a stone, the polish of a bezel, the clarity of glass, the color of a liquid. In 3D, each material is set up on its own, under the light that brings it out, and the product can exist before it is made.

In short: 3D suits luxury because it controls every reflection, material and angle, in stills and in film. I work remotely on 3D packshots, films and sets for watches, jewelry, fragrance and cosmetics. Rates: one image from one angle, €450 to €600 excl. VAT; three angles, €700 to €1,100 excl. VAT; an animated packshot up to 15 s, €900 to €1,800 excl. VAT; set design starts at €300 excl. VAT per image with a supplied 3D file.

What I offer: 3D packshots, films and sets for watches, jewelry, fragrance and cosmetics, from the product’s 3D file or drawings, for brands and agencies, in France and abroad.

Production notes

Metal, gems and glass

Polished gold, brushed steel, diamond, thick glass, colored liquid: these are the hardest materials to render, because they reflect everything around them. In 3D, I choose what they reflect: a studio, soft light, a set.

For Rabanne Phantom, a personal project, the film presents the fragrance in a few seconds through its materials and finish. I handled its 3D composition and final render, with Roméo Chambolle on 3D motion.

Jewelry: make every facet shine

Jewelry sells on its sparkle. The light is placed so every stone glitters without blowing out the image, and the metal keeps its exact color.

For Make It Shine, a French brand, I made two vertical 3D ad spots of about sixteen seconds for its Black November and Black Friday campaigns: the jewelry takes the stage in a large abstract hall.

Watches: detail in close-up

Dial, indices, hands, bezel, strap: a watch is looked at very closely. 3D allows sharp close-ups of every part, slow rotations and, from the 3D file, an exploded view of the case.

The watches in my Explorations 3D series are visual research: a mesh-strap chronograph resting on a branch, a white dial on a bright orange background.

Fragrance and cosmetics

Bottles, jars, tubes and lipsticks need clarity, accurate color and a readable label. 3D turns one scene into every shade and size of a range.

For Frama Herbarium, a personal project, the tight framing brings out the bottle’s clarity, the product’s color and the details of its label.

Set design: a world for the product

A luxury product is rarely shown on a plain white background alone. I build the campaign set in 3D: a display, a salon, a landscape, a material, for a still, a film or an in-store screen.

Working remotely

I am based in Rouen, France, and I work remotely, in French and English, and can work with brands and agencies abroad. The project moves forward through previews to approve before the final render; NDA and white label are possible.

For brands in the UAE and Australia, two pages detail the time difference, invoicing and key dates of each market.

Frequently asked questions

Can you render a watch or a piece of jewelry in 3D?

Yes, from the product’s 3D or CAD file, preferably STEP. Without a file, it is modeled from drawings and photos, which takes longer.

Do you make 3D fragrance films?

Yes: a short film for the web or social media, in vertical or horizontal format. On the Rabanne Phantom personal project, I handled the 3D composition and final render, with Roméo Chambolle on motion.

Can you work with a brand outside France?

Yes, remotely, in French and English, with previews to approve at each step. NDA and white label are possible.

How much does a luxury 3D packshot cost?

One image from one angle, €450 to €600 excl. VAT; three angles, €700 to €1,100 excl. VAT. An animation up to 15 s costs €900 to €1,800 excl. VAT.
