YouTube studio set design

Production notes

A YouTube studio set.Seen in 3D before it is built.

A studio set is judged through the camera, not on a floor plan. 3D shows you the actual frame before you buy the first piece of furniture.

In short: have the set visualized in 3D from the floor plan and camera angles, approve clay previews, then the final renders. They become your shopping list and the brief for the prop master or set decorator. Expect from €300 excl. VAT per image with a supplied 3D file; otherwise, on quote.

What I offer: a to-scale 3D visualization of your studio, seen from your camera angles, so you can decide before buying, building or briefing a set decorator.

Production notes

Why visualize before you build

Camera framing: what matters is what lands in the shot. A piece that looks right in the room can be cropped, too close or invisible on screen.

Depth and light: a flat set reads poorly on video. 3D lets you test layered planes and several moods, depending on whether you shoot a live stream, a long-form video or a podcast.

Budget: every piece is placed at scale before it is ordered. Unneeded purchases show up before they are paid for. The same scene can also serve as a background for green screen shoots.

Process

The floor plan or room measurements, then the camera angles: front, wide shot, reverse angle. Add mood references and photos of the furniture you keep.

Clay previews, without materials or textures, lock in volumes and framing. The final renders add materials, lighting and plants or props.

The renders become the shopping list and the brief for the prop master, set decorator or architect who will build the set.

What 3D does not do

Visualization does not replace the trades. Purchasing, physical decoration, fabrication and installation are handled by the client or a separate contractor.

The accuracy of the views depends on the measurements supplied. A rough plan gives a rough set: check dimensions before the first image.

What I offer

In 2023, I created the 3D render of the studio of Inoxtag, a YouTube and Twitch creator: a plant-filled set for his live streams and videos, with lighting designed to change mood with the content. Creative direction and graphics: Julien Berthelin. I delivered final renders, a clay render and viewport views; the physical set was then built by Accessoirement Vôtre.

I also designed the McFly & Carlito set in 3D, later built with the help of architects. I visualized the set of the Lockin Show, Zack Nani’s podcast. And I designed the Minecraft Arena set for the opening night of Inoxtag’s OneCube server.

Set design starts at €300 excl. VAT per image with a supplied 3D file; without one, the price is set on quote. My work covers design and 3D visualization only.

Frequently asked questions

What should I send to get started?

The floor plan or room measurements, photos of existing furniture, references, the camera views you want, the formats and your timeline.

Can my own furniture be recreated?

Yes. Existing furniture is recreated from photos and dimensions. Proposed or custom pieces can also be placed at the size you need.

Do you handle the build?

No. I provide the design and the images. The build is up to you or a contractor, as Accessoirement Vôtre did for Inoxtag’s studio.

Do you work with talent agencies or production companies?

Yes, remotely, including with teams in the United States. One point of contact follows the project from brief to delivery.
