La League Fortnite case study

Production notes

Inoxtag’s La League Fortnite.A corner of Fortnite, recreated in 3D.

In 2023, Inoxtag ran La League, the French Fortnite Cup. For Inoxtag × Fortnite, in collaboration with IDZ PROD and Webedia, I designed the stage set in 3D: a corner of Fortnite in a studio, with Peely the banana and the llama piñata. In 2026, I reworked the set and rendered it again, for the release of Inoxtag’s skin in Fortnite.

In short: the 3D set design of the La League stage, the French Fortnite Cup run by Inoxtag in 2023, made in collaboration with IDZ PROD and Webedia. The set uses the game’s visual codes: brick facades, the Tilted Towers clock tower, Peely, the llama piñata, med kits and the Slurp barrel. Renders were redone in 2026, the year Inoxtag became the first French content creator in Fortnite’s Icon Series.

Production notes

La League, the French Fortnite Cup

La League is the Fortnite tournament Inoxtag ran in November 2023, billed as the game’s French Cup. Duos compete for a €200,000 prize pool.

The final was played on November 24, 2023, live on Inoxtag’s YouTube channel, where the replay is still available.

My role

I designed the stage set in 3D, for Inoxtag × Fortnite, in collaboration with IDZ PROD and Webedia. The art direction is shared with Julien Berthelin.

My work covers the design and visualization of the set: its layout, props, materials and lighting. The renders show the stage from the wide view down to the details.

A corner of Fortnite in a studio

The set recreates a street from the game: brick facades with lit windows, a traffic light, a stop sign, a fire hydrant, tires and street lamps. At the back, a large screen shows the Tilted Towers clock tower, one of Fortnite’s best-known places.

On the floor, the items every player knows: med kits, bandages, ammo boxes, a Slurp barrel, a hanging chest. Four bushes in planters, with wide leaves spilling over, give the center of the stage its structure.

To the side, a raised platform holds a four-screen counter under a blue and white striped awning, with three stools.

Peely and the llama piñata

Two iconic Fortnite mascots live in the set. Peely, the game’s banana, is slumped in a red armchair on pallets, a can in his hand.

The purple and blue llama piñata stands next to a shopping cart and a red ladder. In the game, this llama is a supply drop: you break it to collect materials and ammo. Its paper fringes, in purple, turquoise and blue, match the game’s.

Lighting

The ceiling is made of purple and magenta light panels that bathe the stage in the colors of a tournament night. Orange windows warm the facades, and the back screen brings in a clear, green daylight.

This contrast separates the layers: the game in the back, the stage in front, and the characters in between.

2026: Inoxtag’s skin in Fortnite

On October 24, 2026, during Paris Games Week, Inoxtag revealed his own Fortnite skin at his Back to OG tournament at the Dôme de Paris. Fortnite France describes him as the first French content creator to get his own skin in the game. The skin joins the Icon Series and arrives in the shop on October 27, 2026.

It was the right moment to bring this set up to date: I reworked the 2023 scene and redid its renders, from the wide view to close-ups of Peely and the llama.

From viewport to render

The project page also shows the behind-the-scenes: the Cinema 4D viewport, with one color per object, and the clay render, without materials or textures.

These views are used to check the volumes and the layout, object by object, before materials and lighting.
